Please Note: Donations are processed through ABRCMS' host organization, the American Society for Microbiology.

Since its inception in 2001, the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists (ABRCMS) has impacted the career development of more than 62,000 trainees and faculty from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, and more recently, internationally. Since 2005, attendance at the conference has more than doubled to approximately 5,200 participants per year; of this number, 62% of attendees have been women and 73% have represented historically underrepresented racial and ethnic groups in science.

The ABRCMS donation program supports new initiatives that are not currently covered by National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant funding. Your support provides opportunities for early-career scientist advancement through innovative initiatives, including but not limited to:

  • Leadership Development Academy
  • DEI Fellowships and Experiential Learning
  • Professional Development Grants for Postdoctoral Scientists and Junior Faculty

ABRCMS aims to:

  • Expose participants to cutting edge science and support success as STEM professionals.
  • Foster a sense of community across the full spectrum of scientific careers, including in academia, government, and industry.
  • Connect trainees with leaders who serve as positive models in the biomedical and behavioral research ecosystem.

Make a difference by supporting ABRCMS, the premier undergraduate STEM conference and the future of research in biomedical and behavioral sciences!
